Well, any story about candle making has to start with candles, right? And let's face it, everyone enjoys the scent and ambiance of a good candle. But here at Rhode Island Pyro, the idea came not just to make candles, but to do something a little different. So we set up a few rules, and that's how our story and our products came to be.

Rule #1: It's gotta be fun. So many candles today, while certainly of good quality, just seem to be cookie-cutter copies of every other candle. Many don't even have colors anymore. We wanted to do it a little differently. Our entire brand is built off a combination of a classic candle making workshop meets the Victorian elements of steampunk and fun names and labels that make our candles stand out.

Rule #2: It's gotta be clean. All of our candles are made with soy wax. There are so many studies now showing the risks and dangers of other types of wax vs. the clean and renewable nature of soy. Every type of wax has its pros and cons, but soy is stable, non-toxic, plant based, affordable, and long lasting in comparison to other waxes. Oh, and did we mention we only source our fragrances from suppliers that have no phthalates? Your health matters.

Rule #3: It's gotta be unique. Yes, many candles out there in the market have some common and popular scents, but we pride ourselves here on blending scents as much as we can so that there's something new and unique to our candles compared to others on the market. And we're constantly designing - that's the fun of candle making after all. So our candles and our scents won't get stale.

Rule #4: It's gotta be safe. This is a big one for us. Just like your health, your safety matters to us too. All of our candles receive a warning and lighting label to help you know when to use your candle, and when not to. We also only supply containers specifically designed for candles - we don't take a risk on anything else.
